A unique destination

Elbow Cay, commonly known as Hope Town,  is a five-mile-long island featuring world-class beaches, snorkeling, boating and fishing. The historic settlement area features quaint cottages and a variety of shopping, dining and entertainment options; it attracts visitors both by and and sea.  The vibe of the island is informal and welcoming.

Something for everyone

Hope Town Harbour is considered the cruising capital of the Abacos, and is dominated by the iconic red-and-white Elbow Reef Lighthouse -- the oldest kerosene-powered lighthouse still in operation in the world. Golf cart, powerboat, paddleboard, kayak, surfboard and bicycle rentals are available on the island.  Deep-sea fishing rentals and guided boat tours are also available. Restaurant options range from casual fare to fine dining.

Unspoiled beaches

Beautiful coral beaches and reefs can be found up and down the island; there's everything from a children's beach on the North End to the spectacular Tahiti Beach, located at the southern end of the island. Tahiti Beach was recently rated as the best beach in the Caribbean region and in good weather features a floating bar and restaurant.  But there's no need to go so far -- the beach in front of Hope Chest is as wonderful as anything on the island.
